The beach is what makes Chale Reefs so special: 2km of white sand, largely untouched by development and used almost exclusively by local fishermen and a sprinkling of tourists.

The gently sloping beach and rock pools in the coral mean there is safe swimming for all ages at high or low tide.

The outer reef lies about 400 metres off shore, teaming with tropical fish and a variety of corals.   Snorkelling trips in a traditional ngalawa can easily be organized.
